I Said 'Yes' To A Chocolate Brazilian Wax

Have you ever sifted through Groupon to find something new and exciting to try? For me, I’ve been trying to find the perfect wax studio to call home, so when I saw a ‘Chocolate Brazilian Wax’ at WOW Threading Studio at a great price, I knew I had to try it!

WOW Threading Studio is located on W 26th and 3rd Avenue – perfect location.  The small salon offers various services, ranging from body waxing (all chocolate wax) to henna tattoos, at an affordable price. This past Friday I made a same appointment, but so did the rest of Manhattan. After waiting to be serviced (like 45 minutes), I was asked what I was there for and escorted to one of the waxing rooms.

Like any experienced wax-ee, I laid on the table ready for my fate. The esthetician (Sara, I believe) came in and asked if I was ready. Then it started.

Using a disinfectant, she cleansed the area and applied baby powder to absorb excess oil. After relaxing myself with the sweet aroma of chocolate, I finally let her do her thing. Cocoa style.

Much faster than any wax service I’ve had, I was done in about 10-15 minutes. WOW uses soft wax, always chocolate, because of the skin soothing properties of the cacao plant. What I noticed was that once the wax is applied to the skin, they remove the hair within 15-seconds of application. Painless. No seriously. But that feeling may only be if you’ve waxed recently, tbh, however I could be wrong. YAY for high pain tolerance!

Verdict: This chocolate Brazilian was one of the best waxes I’ve ever had! I was super comfortable with the esthetician and it was only my first visit. I still covet Brazilian Babes in Harlem and Alessi Medical Spa (my personal fave) in White Plains, but this place has it’s perks. Not only is it cost effective, but the staff makes you feel comfortable during your treatment. That’s where they got me.

If you’re looking for an affordable, sweet wax, swing by WOW Threading Studio!
